The Camping Leader scheme is for campers wishing to support and develop a participant's camping proficiency. A qualified Camping Leader can supervise a camping group and teach campcraft activities in a variety of camp locations ranging from land with no facilities to fully-fledged campsites.

The qualification does not cover the supervision of groups away from the campsite. However, Camping Leaders who also hold the Mountain Training qualification can also operate camps within the terrain of their scheme.
